Gamesa, a leading wind turbine manufacturer and a key global player in wind farm development, has sold a total of six German wind farms in four locations with combined installed capacity of 45.05 MW to IKEA Group in Germany.
Carsten Pedersen, the founder and long-standing Chief Sales Officer at Nordex SE, will be switching to the Company’s Supervisory Board. He will be replacing Kai Brandes, who stepped down from the Supervisory Board. Kai Brandes is the managing shareholder of CMP Capital Management-Partners GmbH, which sold its investment in Nordex SE in spring 2010.

The first joint project between Nordex and UK developer DW Consultancy Ltd. has been signed and sealed: DW Consultancy has ordered eight Nordex N80/2500 turbines for their Northern Irish wind farm known as “Screggagh”. Nordex will be supplying the wind turbines from its European production facility in Rostock in September.
In the first three months of 2010, the Nordex Group generated sales of EUR 150.5 million (previous year: EUR 233.3 million). The decline in business had been expected due to muted order intake in the previous three quarters largely as a result of a shortfall in the project finance provided by banks.
Construction of Maryland’s first wind farm has begun. Nordex USA, Inc. has been awarded an order for 20 N90 2.5 megawatt wind turbines to be installed at a 50-megawatt wind farm in Garrett County, Maryland. The contract with developer and future operator, Synergics, includes installation and a five-year maintenance agreement.
